Nitrox Certification Courses

There are many reasons that you should get certified as a Nitrox diver. You can enjoy the excitement of diving with Nitrox. It also helps you to become more confident as a diver. Many organizations offer certification courses. Here are some of them: NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver, PADI Enriched Air Diver, SSI Adventure Diver, and Open Water Diver.

PADI Enriched Air Diver

The PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx) certification is for divers who wish to extend the bottom time of their dives. The course includes a short classroom session and home study. The EANx course teaches about oxygen content and how to use a scuba Oxygen Analyzer. Also, it demonstrates standard procedures for recording oxygen levels in tanks.

With Nitrox enriched air divers, they can increase the amount of time they can stay under water without stopping frequently. The air mix has a lower amount of nitrogen, which gives them a greater safety margin. Also, enriched air mix usually has 32% or 36% oxygen. This makes them great for shallower dives.

NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver

An enriched air diver certification is a step in the right direction if you are looking to take your diving to the next level. This course teaches you the fundamentals of blending air, the risks associated with high oxygen concentrations, and how to handle the equipment. Furthermore, you'll be able to use a divecomputer and analyze the contents. A standard air dive table will also be covered. The common blending of nitrogen and oxygen is also covered.

Nitrox, also known to some as enhanced air, is a form of breathing gas which contains more oxygen that standard air. The higher oxygen content allows you to stay underwater longer without the need to recharge your tank. Because it reduces decompression fatigue, this is good for your health. Additionally, enriched air divers have shorter surface intervals.

SSI Adventure Diver

SSI is a well-respected diving organization. The SSI Adventure Diver Nitrox Certification, one of the highest ratings, is one of their most advanced ratings. This certification requires experience, knowledge, as well as skills. You must have at least 50 dives, and four specialty courses to be eligible for this award.

The SSI Adventure Diver nitrox course teaches students how to dive in low visibility. This course teaches divers how to navigate in darkness, use specialized equipment and communicate with their buddy. They will receive the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver certification after completing the course.

SSI Open Water Diver

The SSI Open Water Diver certification is internationally recognized. It includes three parts: academic, in-water pool training and multiple open-water diving. This course teaches you how to plan and dive with enriched air mixtures up to 40% oxygen. This can improve your bottom time and decrease your surface intervals. Additionally, it may prevent you from getting decompression sickness.

PADI and SSI dive centers are different in the way they handle certifications. PADI certifications require you to purchase your manual. An SSI certification does not require you to purchase your manual. Your card is issued directly from the dive centre where you completed your course. PADI certification centers may also offer temporary cards that you can use as proof of your certification.
