As a Scuba Ranger, you will get to know different aquatic creatures and their habitats. You will also learn the various underwater and surface search techniques. These techniques include using compasses, circle, square, and grid searches. You will also learn about different water sports like pool diving, kayaking, or surfing.
Advanced Scuba Rangers programme
The Advanced Scuba Rangers program allows students to advance their scuba diving skills and gain confidence in the water. Advanced Scuba Rangers will learn to dive and share their knowledge with their friends and families. This program will appeal to children who are interested in the sea.
There are two phases to the Advanced Scuba Rangers Program. The first phase teaches students basic skills for wreck diving. The second phase of the course teaches them how to research and locate wrecks and prepare for them. They will also learn how to use different search patterns and calculate distances. In addition, they will learn how to assess the risks of a wreck dive.
The basic Scuba Rangers program must be completed before you can become an Advanced Scuba Ranger. The program typically lasts for five days. The program costs $350 and includes the training kit, pool time, instructor fees and all scuba equipment. You must be at minimum eight years of age to enroll in this program. A single-day Ranger Specialty program is available as an option.

You can also take students on a tour of the non-public areas, and participate in narrated feedings. The Aquarium also provides free online classes for teachers and offers resources such as printable art and crafts. In addition, students can take a virtual tour of the Great Wall of China using Zoom technology.
Teachers may also benefit from a free orientation. It takes approximately 60 minutes to complete and includes a brief overview of the National Aquarium's education programs. Instructors will learn how to safely use scuba equipment, how to use regulators and masks, and how to air-share. They will also learn all about the marine life, and how equipment care is important. After the orientation, students are able to visit the aquarium and take part in an educational program.
Learning activities in the pool
Rangers learn not only how to dive but also navigation and basic underwater search techniques. Rangers also learn how to use a grid, compass, and square search to locate underwater treasures. These skills will be practiced in a pool. Once they have mastered each skill they will learn to swim a mile under water with their masks, fins, and snorkel. Rangers learn how to use basic first aid and how to recognize signs of stress or trouble while diving.
The first learning activity is to perform a front flip or a back flip under water, without depleting themselves. A second activity requires candidates to pull a face mask out of the water with their teeth, and then perform five bobs under the water. If you fail to complete a Bob, the mask will be dropped or broken, and the swimmers may touch the sides.
