What is an Aqua Lung? It is an open-circuit, self-contained breathing apparatus. Aqua-Lungs was one of the first type of self-contained respiratory apparatus. It quickly gained commercial success and popularity around the world. These days, this type of equipment is also known as a demand valve or twin-hose diving regulator. Aqua-lungs were first used by Emile Gagnan and Jacques Cousteau. They quickly became a hit in the diving world.
Jacques Cousteau
Jacques Cousteau was the inventor of the first open-circuit self-contained underwater breathing device. Cousteau designed the first underwater breathing apparatus that used compressed air. The Aqua-Lung is the name of the device that opened the sport to everyone who had an interest. Cousteau's Aqua-Lung became the standard for divers everywhere.
Emile Gagnan
Emile Gagnan and Jacques-Yves Cousteau invent the Aqua Lung in the 1940s. Its design was inspired by the 19th-century designs of diving helmets. It allows underwater divers breathe through a mouthpiece which releases compressed air when activated by their breath. Gagnan later refined the device's regulator valve, which automatically feeds compressed air to the diver's mouthpiece in proportion to the amount of breath that the diver takes. This device was revolutionary in the diving industry. It allowed people to explore deep ocean depths for scientific observations, military use, or recreational purposes.

The first opencircuit demand regulator
Cousteau invented the Aqua-Lung in 1944, and it was patentable in 1946. The Aqua-Lung scuba regulator has been a hit since its inception. Gagnan and Emile Gagnan were Cousteau’s son-in-law and French chemists. They all knew Cousteau and decided to collaborate on the Aqua-Lung regulator.
The BC1
The BC1 Aqua Lung (an advanced back inflation BC) is designed for commercial, military and public safety divers. The rugged design of the BC1 Aqua Lung provides superior comfort, fit and stability. The manual also includes information on how to insert weights into each pouch. The BC1 comes in two weight capacities: one for your chest and the other for your back. By purchasing different weight pouches, the BC1 can be tailored to suit individual needs.
The Titan
Aqua Lung Titan is lightweight and portable regulator that combines the best features from previous generations. The Aqua Lung Titan's lightweight design makes it easy to use, and the soft polyurethane covers provide a snug fit. Its light weight and robust design make it easy for extended diving. It is reasonably priced, making it affordable to most people. It comes with two stages: one that prevents unwanted flow and another that prevents it from leaking.
The Mentor
Aqua lung Mentor, developed in conjunction with US Navy, is a regulator which replaces the old double hoses used for training divers for rebreather usage. The Aqua lung is not yet available to the public but it is an excellent option for professional divers who are looking for an alternative for the double-hose regulators. Here are some things to keep in mind when buying the Aqua lung Mentor. To start, you must make sure it is calibrated.
