What is ERDI?

ERDI is a premier provider of educational research and development opportunities for superintendents, assistant/deputy superintendents, and CTOs. This program has encouraged dialogue among industry leaders as well as school district leaders regarding the role of leadership and equity within the education system. ERDI hosted its inaugural Thought Leader Symposium. Here, industry and school leaders discussed ways to increase equity in education.

ERDI offers a variety of programs

ERDI Programs offer international students a way to enhance their education in the country they are from. Students at the University of Eastern Finland can take ERDI courses in Finland while they study. The programs promote intercultural dialogue between countries and help address environmental issues worldwide. ERDI courses were planned and taught by teachers from both the US and Canada. This multicultural teaching environment is a benefit for both teachers and students.


In the case of ERDI's Testifying in Court program, students will gain insight into the court system and criminal legal processes. The course will give students a deeper understanding of the court system and how to present their testimony.

Underwater Crime Scene Investigations Program

The ERDI Underwater Crime Scene Investigation program is designed to help law enforcement professionals acquire the knowledge and skills needed to conduct underwater crime scene investigations. The course will teach participants how to collect evidence, document the scene, and provide court-ready testimony. The course is free and open to law enforcement personnel and other emergency service personnel.

Instructors are experts in forensic investigation and will teach the program. These instructors are highly qualified and certified in underwater crime scene investigation. They are experts in law enforcement and criminal justice. They also have advanced knowledge in the sciences of crime scene investigation. They will be training law enforcement officers and public safety personnel from all parts of the world.

Divers in Confined Space

In this ERDI component, students develop knowledge and skills that will enable them to safely perform limited confined space operations. This training is compliant to OSHA and NFPA regulations. Students will be taught how to deal with a range of emergencies in tight spaces. Students will also learn to properly decontaminate victims, and how to search for evidence.
