PADI Enriched Air Diver
The PADI Enriched Air Diver (EANx) certification is for divers who wish to extend the bottom time of their dives. This course includes a home study and a brief classroom session. The EANx course teaches the basics of how to record the percentage of oxygen in a scuba tank.
You can prolong the time you can stay underwater with Nitrox-enriched air divers without having to make frequent stops. Because there is less nitrogen in the air mixture, they are safer. Additionally, enriched air mixtures usually contain 32% to 36% oxygen which makes them suitable for diving at shallow depths.

After completing the course, divers will be awarded the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver rating and are eligible to receive the SSI Nitrox Specialty certificate.
SSI Open Water Diver
Internationally recognized, the SSI Open Water Diver program includes three components: academic learning, in water pool training, and multiple open water dives. This course will teach you how to plan, dive and use enriched air mixes as high as 40% oxygen. This can increase your bottom time and reduce your surface intervals. It may also help to avoid decompression sickness.
PADI and SSI have different certification procedures. You must purchase your manual to obtain a PADI certification. You will receive your card from your dive center, if you are a SSI certified diver. PADI certification center may offer temporary cards you can use as proof that your certification is valid.
