First, you must make a reservation. Visit the Illini Union's RSO Office in Room 284 to make a reservation. A list of participants must be provided when you reserve ice. You will also need to arrange for a supervisor at the rink to answer your questions during the rental period.
Center Ice Cafe
The University of Illinois Ice Arena Center Ice Cafe is now open to the general public. Located adjacent to the Customer Service Office, the cafe offers food and beverages. There's also an Ice Arena Pro Shop with a wide variety of hockey and skating accessories.
Free skate trainers

Gas leak at UI Ice Arena
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has issued an Illini-Alert following a gas leak at its ice arena. The building, located at 406 E. Armory Ave., was evacuated as a precaution after firefighters and Ameren Illinois crews detected a leak. To prevent further contamination, firefighters closed off a sideway leading to arena. It is believed the leak came from underneath the building.
