Dan Divers and DAN Divers

scuba diving equipment for sale

Dan divers are more than just any scuba diving business. Divers Alert Network has also been established to ensure that all divers are safe. Founded in Durham, North Carolina, United States, the nonprofit organization provides 24-hour telephonic diving medical assistance. It is essential to be familiar with your diving safety, and what you should do to protect yourself.

Divers insurance

DAN Divers insurance for scuba divers offers many benefits. Members receive emergency dental care and evacuation as well as translation services and embassy referrals. The organization also supports diving safety research, and provides assistance with medical issues. Insurance plans also cover hospital charges and emergency transportation. DAN offers divers many benefits, but also provides a DAN Information Line where members can make non-urgent inquires.

There are three levels of DAN insurance plans. DiveSafe, Dive&Travel, and Dive&Travel Plus offer the same benefits, including 24-hour emergency medical assistance and translation services while you travel. These plans offer unlimited coverage for medical expenses incurred during a dive, as well as coverage for local and hyperbaric chamber treatments. DAN plans can also be used to cover medical expenses for accident victims.

Membership to scuba diving

A Dan Divers scuba diving membership has several benefits that are not found in other scuba diving memberships. DAN membership gives you access and insurance protection. It's also a great way to support one of America's largest scuba diving associations. You will enjoy the benefits of membership and receive an email with your questions and answers.

DAN offers scuba diving membership benefits as well as an accident coverage plan and an extensive online library for divers. DAN can help reduce the costs of diving accidents, which can prove to be expensive and even deadly. You may not be covered by your local medical plan if you dive abroad. Or, it may only pay a fraction of the cost of chamber treatments which can add up to thousands of dollars. However, a DAN accident plan will give you coverage for up to US$500,000 in expenses, and the coverage will cover 100% of your eligible medical bills.

First aid for scuba divers

Scuba diving first aid for Dan divers includes four courses in one. These courses provide instruction on how to manage common underwater emergencies and how you can provide surface support. These courses also cover the skills and knowledge required to manage the neurological effects of diving emergencies. The course is taught in English and has a very practical focus. In addition to first aid for Dan divers, the courses cover CPR and other life-saving techniques. After completing the training, you will be certified as a DAN instructor.

The DAN DFA Pro course will teach you how to provide emergency oxygen to injured divers. It is an important skill for avoiding decompression illness. You will learn how to recognize signs of lung overexpansion, decompression, and other injuries while scuba diving. Decompression sickness and lung injuries are not common, but early diagnosis and treatment can make a significant difference in a diver’s recovery.

Scuba diving research

DAN has done a lot of research on scuba diving, including analysing the causes of accidents and finding ways to prevent them. They may even save another diver's life. They offer a wide range programs for both recreational and professional divers. These programs are vital in preventing accidents from happening, and many people reap the benefits of taking part. These are the most important:

DAN also actively participates on academic courses and international conferences in order to promote scuba diving safety, and improve first reaction. This work covers safety, medical services and national certification. The DAN Educational Hotline staff will be available to help you with any questions or coordinate your care. They can also evacuate patients. To assist in an emergency dive, a telemedicine service can also be provided.
