Advanced technical diving certifications are available for those who wish to pursue them. TDI offers Intro to Tech courses as well as Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures and Advanced Nitrox, while PADI offers Tec Trimix or Deep Diver courses. The TDI Advanced Nitrox course introduces advanced diving techniques for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment use, gas switching, advanced emergency techniques and lift bag deployment. Visit the TDI web site for more information.
TDI Intro Tech course
The TDI Intro to Tech standalone training course will allow you to increase your recreational training while also gaining a deeper understanding and skill set in advanced technical areas. This course can be used as a foundation for TDI's advanced courses such as Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures. You can also use it to refresh those who have previously taken technical courses. During the course technical instructors from TDI will evaluate your skills.
For divers who have never dived with twin cylinders or a wing, the TDI Intro to Tech course will be helpful. It also covers advanced gas management and buoyancy control. Students will also learn situational awareness and trim skills. The course can either be taken in the open cenotes of the ocean or in areas that have similar swimming pool conditions. Advanced gas planning techniques and methods will also be covered. This course will improve your open water diving skills as well as introduce you to technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will be taught. You will not be permitted to decompress the course but can still use enriched air nitrogenx mixes.

TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course
TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures Courses prepare divers to perform accelerated and staged compression. Students learn advanced gas planning techniques and management techniques in order to make sure their dives are safe. Students also learn how they manage their equipment and plan to handle any unexpected events. Four dives at a maximum depth limit of 40 meters (130 feet) are included in the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course.
This course is available as either a standalone or part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certificate. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses are performance-based, lasting four days. Six dives are required, with two below 30m. The course is tailored to the students' experience and individual needs. This course prepares students to dive in advanced technical conditions, including wrecks in Scapa Flow or the UK.
PADI Tec Trimix course
The PADI Tec Trimix90 certification course is the last stage of the PADI Technical Diver Open Circuit path. This certification opens up the possibility to go deeper into the ocean and discover places no one else has. This course is not suitable for tec divers with extensive experience who want to expand their range and explore deeper underwater environments. In order to be certified in trimix diving, you must have a valid diver license and have undergone a medical examination. For this certification, you need two 30cf stage bottles and a face mask.
PADI Tec Trimix 65 Divers must have logged at the very least 350 dives. The course also focuses on technical diving techniques and protocols. There are multiple teaching scenarios. It is considered the most advanced course in technical dive certification. However, it is worth noting that the requirements are more demanding than the standard PADI Tec Diver course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course
PADI Tec Deep Diver certification for recreational divers is an advanced course. This certification covers four diving trips, which include a practice in safety stops and descents. You will also practice the use of technical diving equipment, such as a side-mounted cylinder and EANx. You'll also learn about how to plan a deep dive and manage your gas supply. Online and offline lessons are both possible through the PADI Tec eLearning program.
This program is two years long, unlike the PADI courses. First, you need to be certified as a Tec 50 diver by an approved organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical diving, decompression diving up to 50 metres and pure oxygen diving. Additionally, the PADI Course Director conducting the Tec Deep Instructor course may also offer Tec 50 diver level training. Upon completion, the PADI Instructor Course Director will issue a Tec Deep Diver Certification.
