The next year, he made a British minersweeper an oceanographic research ship. He was unable to raise funds and his passion for diving led him to write The Silent World, which became an award-winning film.
Aqua-Lung, the most significant innovation in scuba dive is Aqua-Lung. It was created by Jacques Cousteau and allows divers to swim comfortably and freely under water. The Aqua-Lung has become a staple for many people, and Cousteau helped develop many other tools for oceanographic exploration. Emile Gagnan
In 1945, Emile Gagagnan and Jacques Yves Cousteau patented the Aqua-Lung diving regulator. Aire Liquide, a French company, bought the rights to manufacture the regulator. It was later sold to the U.S. Divers Corporation. This regulator was the latest innovation of the French CG45 regulator, and it was made in Canada. This regulator proved to be extremely successful.
Initially, the Aqualung was known as the Aqualung. It was sold first in France in 1946. Then, it was brought to the U.S. in 1952. In 1958, Air Liquide purchased U.S. Aqua Lung America was created by divers and purchased by Air Liquide in 1958. Air Liquide became a division of the company, making it the world's largest diving business. Today, the Aqua-lung is a major component of nearly every set of Scuba gear worldwide.
Emile Gagnan (France) and Jacques Cousteau (France) invented the Aqua-Lung. Both men were spies for the French Resistance during World War II. Robert Ballard continued his pursuit of the sea after the war. Emile Gagnan became his partner in crime, and he was working at L'Air Liquide as a Frenchman. As engineers, they learned to use high-pressure pneumatic design. Gagnan's ideas evolved into the Aqualung, a fully automated compressed-air diving system.
