How to become a master diver in the United States Navy

Master diver in the United States Navy ranks as the highest level of diving qualification one can attain in warfare. Enlisted persons have the greatest depth of knowledge, experience and training regarding all aspects and salvage. At least 15 years' experience is required to become a master diver. You also need to have taken a specialization class. A specialization course can help you earn master diver status in the United States Navy.

PADI Master Scuba Diver

PADI Master Scuba Diver certification is an internationally recognized level of scuba diving proficiency. This program is offered by several North American diving training agencies including the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI), the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), Scuba Schools International and the Professional Scuba Diver Association. It is considered to be the most advanced level possible of diver certification. You will be required to dive at least 30ft underwater while completing the course.

NAUI Master Scuba Diver

A NAUI Master Scuba Diver course may be the right choice for you if you are ready to progress to a higher level in scuba diving. The course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to organize dives for other divers. You'll be able to read underwater communications and use a compasses. You'll also learn how to lead a dive in a new location. This course is comprised of a classroom session as well as two open water dives.


NAUI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver

Taking the NAUI Enriched Air (NITX) Master Diver course is a great way to expand your diving experience. The course covers all aspects involved in enriched-air diving, including mixing Nitrox with oxygen. The course teaches students how to analyze the breath mixture and how the physiology of nitrogen and oxygen affects the safety of handling the gases. They'll also learn about Equivalent Water Depth and common gases mixing techniques. The enriched air course can be taken as an extension of an open water diver's Scuba Diver certification course, as it is a prerequisite to use the enriched air mix.

NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver

You must take the required courses to achieve your goal of becoming a NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver Master Diver Instructor. This certification is a prerequisite in the NAUI FIT program, which will prepare you to be a professional NAUI Instructor/Leader. Take the Try Scuba program to get started. This program will teach you all the skills and knowledge needed to safely dive open water.

NAUI First Aid course

The NAUI First Aid Course for Master Divers will help you respond to various emergencies in the water. Apart from refresher sessions, this course will provide valuable information regarding new First Aid standards as well training best practices. NAUI First Aid will equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to rapidly respond to an immediate emergency. This course allows you to put into practice what you've learned in class.
