PADI Emergency First Response CFC (EFR+CFC), Courses

PADI's Specialty Emergency First Response (EFR+CFC) course is designed to prepare individuals for situations where they may need to apply first aid. You must have the appropriate equipment to complete the course. Equipment can be rented. You can find more information about the course here. For those who have some experience but want to refresh their skills, this course can also be used as a refresher.

Course content

EFR training is a great way of increasing your confidence and willingness to handle medical emergencies. Participants are able to practice emergency care in a stress-free atmosphere and learn simple procedures. Self-study books, video demonstrations, quick reference cards, and video tutorials are included in the course materials. It fulfills all requirements for professional and PADI Rescue Diver courses.

CPR, rescue breathing (scene assessment), and basic first-aid are just some of the courses. This training also covers common diving injuries. This includes learning how to bandage, splint, and prevent infection. Students learn to protect themselves against pathogens, and other potentially dangerous substances. This course teaches you how to save lives and respond to potentially life-threatening situations.

Pre-requisites

PADI Emergency First response course is one-day and teaches participants how they can respond quickly to a medical emergency that could be life-threatening. The program includes classroom theory and skills development as well as real-life scenario practice. The course does not require any pre-requisites.

Non-divers as well divers can take the course. The course covers CPR and first assistance emergencies. With the aid of videos and quick reference cards, participants learn how to quickly and effectively respond in these situations. This course is compliant with the CPR/First-aid training requirements of the PADI Rescue Diver as well as all professional levels in the PADI Scuba Diver program. Additionally, many PADI instructors are certified as instructors in Emergency First Response.

Requirements

Emergency First Response training builds confidence and prepares participants to help others in an emergency. This course covers lifesaving skills such as CPR, first-aid, and primary care. It also emphasizes the importance to minimize risks. Non-divers are also taught so they can be more prepared for an emergency.


Upon successful completion of the EFRI program, students are eligible to sit for the PADI Instructor Examination. Each course begins with the prefix EFRI, and is numbered sequentially. Each course lasts 1 hour. This includes 55 minutes of class, and five breaks.

Refresher Course

EFR Refresher Course is for people who want a refresher course. This course includes two parts: a Skill Building session and an Exam. Although the EFR Instructor Manual recommends that the refresher course be taken as an optional component of the full EFR course. The refresher course provides the opportunity to learn about the latest developments and techniques in CPR/first-aid. You will also learn how to use the AED. You will also learn how to teach others how to use the AED in an emergency.

EFR is a great way of brushing up on your skills, and to meet the requirements for PADI Rescue diver. It also fulfills requirements for Professional Rescue Diver training and other courses requiring CPR. It also includes an Emergency First Response Videos, which help participants prepare for emergencies as well as preview the skills they'll be using during the skills-development session.

The Emergency First Response course is a half-day course that teaches the skills necessary in emergency situations. The course includes classroom lessons, video presentations and role-play scenarios. It also covers CPR, first aid and AED usage. The course is an essential part of PADI certification and satisfies the prerequisites for several courses. The course is approximately 6,900 THB for each person. The cost includes the training manual as well as two years' certification fees for PADI.
