To become a cavern dive instructor, you must complete a scuba diver course. This course includes four scuba diver dives. Your instructor will teach you how to plan your dive as well as how to keep your orientation and control your air. You will be able, upon completion, to dive in caves or other caves that follow safety rules.
Safety rules
Cave diving safety protocols follow the Rule of Threes. Cave divers should have at least three sources of light, and two tanks. The gas should be divided into three different sections so that they can survive the dive. If the dive team has previous experience with cave diving, a more conservative approach to gas management is recommended. Cave divers should be careful when diving in caves.
Equipment
Cave diving is a sport that requires specific equipment. It is essential to have two types of safety gear. The one should be used for running guideline and the other should be used while the diver is in the cavern. Each diver should have a safety reel that has enough line to reach the cave's entry and the longest permanent line. Manufacturers will often pack the reels up to the edge with guideline when making a new reel. This makes them more susceptible to jamming. To avoid jamming, remove approximately 10 meters (30ft), of line prior to use.
Maximum penetration
TDI offers a cavern diver course that is designed for scuba divers who wish to dive in areas where direct vertical access is not possible. This includes dives into caverns, and overhangs. It is not mandatory to sign up for a cavern dive course. However, the course will provide the necessary skills to make the most of the environment. This course will teach you how to navigate the narrow spaces often hidden from your view.

Maximum depth
Cavern diving has some limitations. Cavern diving is not recommended for night dives. Cavern diving is more difficult than other types of diving. To be able to dive in caverns safely, you will need to know the basics and understand your limits. Before you can dive in caverns, it is important to have some cave diving experience. You can then embark on a journey into cavern diving.
